10th Edition of UV postponed

With a heavy heart but out of concern for patrons, management of the Crop Over staple event - UV, has taken the decision to postpone the breakfast party.

Barbados was put under a Flash Flood Watch at 5:30 pm, today, and it will remain for a full 24-hours. The Barbados Met Office has also hinted at the fact that the Watch can be upgraded to a Warning at any moment as well.

In its tenth year, a veteran in its own light, UV continues to be the breakfast party that keeps bringing the vibe annually.

This year, however, the all-inclusive party slated for tomorrow, Sunday, July 28, has been rescheduled for Thursday, August 1, Emancipation Day.

Organiser Mario Turton told Loop News that he was dealing with the situation all today. It appears the decision to postpone was not taken lightly and was deemed necessary.

In a message issued by those in charge of UV, they said that the postponement is due to the weather advisory and conditions.

"Due to the impending inclement weather, the promoters of UV have decided to postpone until Thursday, August 1st.
The safety and comfort of our patrons matter the most to us and after discussions with our sponsors, production team and service providers, we decided this was the best move to ensure maximum enjoyment for you!
