Two non-nationals along with ten Barbadians artistes will be vying for the title of Yello International Bashment Soca Monarch come July 6 when the finals takes place at Kensington Oval.

The list of finalists was announced earlier today after a week of voting by the public. Organizers of the event, 4D Entertainment, said votes were pouring in from all over the world.

“We received thousands of vote submissions from across the world, coming from as far as Sweden and Switzerland, to England, the USA, Canada and all over the Caribbean. That augurs well for this genre of music” said Rudy Maloney from 4D Entertainment.

There was one semi-finalist, Joel ‘Dynamite’ Tyril, who was forced to withdraw from the competition. Two-time Bashment Soca Monarch, Stiffy, will be hoping to take the crown again this year in a competition where the winner takes the grand prize of $80,000.
