13 people injured in mass casualty

A collision between a motor car and a minibus resulted in injuries to 13 people. 

The accident occurred on Saturday, October 12 along Belmont Road, St Michael around 7.20 pm. 

Police report that the car was travelling west towards Bridgetown whilst the minibus was travelling in the opposite direction when they collided. 

Police personnel and three ambulance from the QEH responded to the scene. All 13 people complained of various injuries about the body. The driver of the car and two of his passengers were transported to the QEH for treatment, while the driver of the minibus and nine passengers were treated at the scene and discharged.

None of the injuries as a result of the accident were life threatening. The minibus was moderately damaged whilst the motor car was extensively damaged.

Police investigations are continuing.
