30-year-old is Barbados' second road fatality for 2019

The country has recorded its second road fatality for 2019. 

The deceased is 30-year-old Hamal Amal Lamar Phillips of Jackson Terrace, Stage 2, St. Michael.  

According to reports from the Royal Barbados Police Force (RBPF) on Monday, 21 January, 2019 about 12:12 pm, an accident with injuries occurred along Black Rock, Main Road, St. Michael.  

Involved in the collision were Phillips, who was riding a motorcycle, and a St. George resident who was driving a motor vehicle.   

Sometime around 11:00 pm on the mentioned date, Phillips succumbed to his injuries while at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.  

The first road fatality for 2019 was 24-year-old Mario Peters. He was involved in an accident on Bay Street and later died from his injuries.
