Asbestos removal next door keeps Town school closed

The St. Ambrose Primary School, Cyprus Street, St. Michael, will remain closed for the rest of the week.

It is set to reopen on Tuesday, May 22, next week.

The school was closed from Monday, May 14, 2018, this week as a precautionary measure as the Environmental Protection Department carried out work to remove all of the asbestos from the site of the recent fire at the old Ministry of Health buildings on Jemmotts Lane, St. Michael in the nearby environs.

The fire gutted the derelict buildings and damaged sections of the Barbados Family Planning Association. It occurred a month ago, April 14, 2018.
