Bail for three police in St Vincent facing criminal charges

Three members of the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) have been suspended from the force.

According to the police press release, the RSVGPF arrested and charged three serving police officers - two with the offence of rape, and the other with the offences of burglary and criminal trespasses. The charges were laid against the officers on Thursday, November 28, 2019 and on Friday November 29, 2019, respectively.

One of the officers appeared before the Family Court on Thursday and did not have to enter a plead for the indictable offence. He was granted bail with one surety.

The other two police officers appeared before the Family Court and the Serious Offences Court on Friday, November 29, for an arraignment.

Today, Monday, December 2, an officer in the public Relations Department confirmed to Loop News that they were granted bail on Friday.

The police officers have been placed on suspension.
