Barbadian Josh Burke has cemented another 9th place finish after this weekend’s World Surf League Hurley Open Surf 1000 in Acapulco Mexico.

“This is my third 9th place for the year ,the waves were really good , I felt in form and although a good result , it’s a disappointing finish for me personally. I need a 5th or higher to improve my North American ranking and a first or second to improve my international ranking when competing in these 1000 events” Burke explains.

Burke currently sits at #3 rank in the WSL North American region and 58th on the International rankings having already secured a string of good results , he requires  quarter finals finishes or higher in order to improve on the standings.
