Barbadians urged to vote in 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards

With just a few days left for voting in the USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards, the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association (BHTA) is reminding Barbadians to get online and vote.

Congratulating the local nominees, CEO of the Association, Rudy Grant, joined the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc., in calling on all Barbadians to cast their vote before the deadline next Monday, January 30, noting that if everyone got on board Barbados would have a great chance of coming out on top.

“On behalf of the BHTA I wish to congratulate all the local nominees, specifically our members The Cliff and St. Nicholas Abbey, nominated in the Best Restaurant in the Caribbean and Best Caribbean Attraction categories, respectively.

“This is exciting news for our members, our product, our Association and the island. It demonstrates that our offerings are on par with the best of the Caribbean. We as Barbadians should be proud of this. Additionally, the exposure we receive from international polls and nominations is immeasurable.”

Grant also congratulated the employees of both establishments saying that it was their hard work which played a big role in the nominations: “This reflects the dedication of the many Barbadians who give of their best to the industry every day and is a celebration of their contribution to the success of our island’s tourism.

“We want to encourage all Barbadians to go online daily to vote and show their support. This is the perfect opportunity for all of us to help to spread the word on what Barbados has to offer.”

The USA Today Awards encourages readers to help them pick the 10 best – from among the top 20 nominees selected by its travel experts in categories including food, accommodation and destination.

Voting can be done online atwww.10best.com/awards/travel/  daily, per category.
