The Barbados Statistical Service (BSS) will close tomorrow, Thursday, October 11, to allow the property management at Baobab Tower to investigate an environmental issue in its office space.

Staff at the BSS stayed off the job from Monday this week, citing a "pungent, sewage-like smell" which forced them out of the building.

A number of government departments have been hit by environmental issues recently such as the Town Planning Department and the E. Humphrey Walcott Building.

Members of the public are advised to take note of the office closure. The BSS apologizes for any inconvenience this closure may cause.
