Barbados Traffic Report - Confusion about roadworks causes congestion
Here is a look at conditions on our roads and any major concerns for the morning.
No accidents were reported to police at this time, however a visitor died on our roads yesterday.
Conditions are already heavy across the island.
There are buildups from Maxwell to Top Rock in Christ Church; Sargeant's Village, Christ Church; Government Hill, St Michael; My Lord's Hill, St Michael; Lower Estate Road to Belle Junction, St Michael; Jackson through to Green Hill, St Michael; extremely heavy flows from Highway 3 to Hothersal Turning through to Waterford Bottom, St Michael; and congestion from Rock Dundo, St Peter onto Highway 2A through the ABC Highway to the Norman Niles roundabout in St Michael.
Sergeant Seibert Johnson is asking motorists to take note of the following.
From around 9:00 am today, the section of road eastbound between the Clyde Walcott roundabout and Norman Niles roundabout will be used for traffic to flow in both directions, while the westbound section will be closed for excavation work.
However, motorists have been using only one lane already, which is causing a buildup of traffic from the Norman Niles roundabout all the way to St Peter. Persons are advised that they can use both lanes until the work begins around 9:00 am today.
Be careful on our roads whether walking, riding or driving!
