Barbados Under 15 boys’ football team is one step away from clinching international glory.

The young Tridents have topped Group E of the CONCACAF U15 Championships with 10 points and earned a spot in the Division Two final with a place in the top flight at stake.

Barbados finished unbeaten, accomplishing three wins and a draw against Guadeloupe and Puerto Rico in a home and away format.

Playing at the IMG Academy, Bradenton Florida on Thursday, the Tridents defeated Guadeloupe in the second leg 3-1, thanks to goals from Jaylan Gilkes, Thierry Gale and Nazario Adamson.

The following day, in extremely hot and humid conditions, Barbados fought off a very tenacious and energetic Puerto Rico unit to tie 2-2; goal scorers for the Tridents were Abiola Grant and Andre Applewaithe.

Barbados will face Group F winners Suriname in the final tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m.

Earlier in the year, the U15s finished third in the inaugural Souliga Cup in St. Martin.
