Barbados Weather Report- Heavy showers predicted on Crop Over weekend
The Barbados Meteorological Services, has issued a weather alert on Friday August 2, 2019 warning of a possible tropical depression.
An elongated area of low pressure which is presently located near 10N 45W or about 1000 miles ESE of Barbados, has been generating widespread disorganized showers over the past 24 hours.
Some slow development of this system is possible, and a tropical depression could form well to the east-northeast of Barbados by early next week as the area of low pressure moves west-northwestward at 10 to 15 mph late Monday into Tuesday.
Regardless of development, some occasional moderate to heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms are likely over Barbados from as early as Sunday August 4 and continuing into Monday August 5, 2019. Showers associated with this system are likely to persist into mid-week. Thus, residents are urged to monitor the progress of this system and any updates issued by the Barbados Meteorological Services.
The forecast for tonight is fair to partly cloudy, slightly hazy and breezy with a few isolated showers. Winds will be from the generally from the E - ENE at 30 to 45 km/h.
Seas are moderate in open water with swells from 2.0m to 2.5m. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution.
