Barbados Weather Report: Feters cautioned-tropical wave approaching
As party go-ers prepare to enjoy the sweet sounds of Soca on the beach, the hills and on the water, the Barbados Meteorological Service says a tropical wave is approaching the island, the effects of which should be felt later in the evening.
This morning into the afternoon has been fair to partly cloudy and breezy at times with some reports of a few isolated showers. The Met Office says later it should become increasingly cloudy with some scattered showers and possible isolated thunderstorms by late this afternoon.
Later, it will be evening, expect generally cloudy and breezy at times with some scattered showers, occasional rain and possible isolated thunderstorms.
The winds will be blowing from the East to the East South East at between 20 and 30 km/h, but in the evening, there will be higher gusts near showers. The sea are expected to be slight to moderate with swells of 1.0 m to 2.0m.
