A lucky bartender from the United Kingdom has the opportunity to work on the famous floating Floyd's Pelican Bar in St Elizabeth.

Virgin Atlantic is offering bartenders an opportunity to work in Paradise on a trial shift for seven days.

Pelican Bar is owned by Floyd Forbes.

Forbes always dreamt of building a spot where he and his friends could hang out and the sand bar just seven miles off Black River provided the perfect spot. The pelicans hanging out there provided inspiration for the name.

In its promotion, Virgin Atlantic said that Floyd's been pulling pints at the bar since he opened it in 2001 and they think he needs a break.

"That’s where you come in — we're looking for a bartender to head out to Jamaica to take Floyd’s place for a while. You’ll pull pints in one of the most instagrammable drinking spots in the world. With flights and seven nights accommodation included, you'll enjoy a taste (and a sip or two) of the Caribbean. Cheers to that!" said the airline.

Candidates must be a UK resident over 18 currently working in a bar or pub.

The winner will win a pair of return economy Virgin Atlantic flights to Jamaica, seven nights’ accommodation in a four-star hotel, the chance to work a trial shift at Floyd’s Pelican Bar, and £1,000 spending money.
