BDFSP one goal better than Youth Milan
The Barbados Defense Force Sports Programme (BDFSP) needed all their experience and grit last Sunday night to earn three points against Youth Milan FC, when the Barbados Football Association (BFA) Premier League continued last Sunday evening at the BFA Wildey Turf.
After their opening victory last week Youth Milan surrendered to the soldiers in a match which was a complete contrast to their last game versus Crane and Equipment Ellerton.
The northern representatives were lethargic, disorganized and lacked that offensive quality to trouble their opponents.
Youth Milan’s Talisman Josimar Skinner was isolated as the BDFSP defenders offered limited space and his teammates failed to fill the void.
From the kick-off BDFSP were dominant in possession and created a number of opportunities throughout the first-half, specifically via their wing play.
Raheim Sargeant, Akeem Hill and Omani Leacock were the main menaces for the Youth Milan defence; however that opening goal eluded the BDFSP.
National U20 midfielder Renaldo Trim broke the deadlock in the 66th minute; receiving a pass from Rasheed Williams, driving into the box and placing the ball between goalkeeper Richard Corbin and the right upright.
Youth Milan’s woes were compounded in the 69th minute when midfielder Ramon Griffith was expelled by referee Edwin Adams for an elbow to the face on BDFSP’s Kemal Thompson.
The BDFSP now have eight points from their four matches and sit in third position in the Zone 2 table.
