Update: Police name victim in fatal Christ Church shooting

Police have released the name of the deceased.

He is Anthony Omar Layne. 

He was 36 years old and resided in the same Lead Vale, Christ Church community where he died.

Police are investigating another shooting murder.

Today, about 10.40 am police responded to reports of gunshots being heard in the area of a village shop located at Lead Vale Road in Christ Church.

On arrival, the police discovered a large number of people gathered around a grey car and the lifeless body of an adult male in the front driver's seat with injuries. Another motor car was also observed with damage nearby.

Police have not released the identity of the deceased as yet.

The victim is a male. 

Police have confirmed that he has died.

There has been a shooting in Christ Church.

Acting Public Relations Officer for the Royal Barbados Police Force, Station Sergeant Michael Blackman said that police are currently on the scene of a shooting incident at Lead Vale in Christ Church.  

The report came at 11.09 am today (June 4).

Blackman said that an update will be provided when more information is available.
