UPDATE: Police issue release on unnatural death
UPDATE [3:16 pm]: Police issued the following press release about this investigation:
Police are conducting investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death of a man whose age is unknown at this time, of No Fixed Place of Abode, whose lifeless body was discovered by a pedestrian sometime around 8:20 am, on Monday the 1st of January 2018, on the compound of the People’s Mart, Eagle Hall, St. Michael.
The police will await the results of a postmortem to guide the investigations.
UPDATE [1:40 pm]: PRO with the Royal Barbados Police Force, Inspector Roland Cobbler, provided the following information to Loop News:
"We are conducting investigations into the circumstances related to the death of a man of no fixed place of abode, whose age is unknown at this time.
"His lifeless body was discovered about 8:20 this morning by a passerby, on the compound of the People's Market."
As many Barbadians hoped to see a decline in crime and violence in this new year, the island has already recorded a suspected murder.
While reports indicate that police are currently on scene in the Black Rock/Eagle Hall, St Michael area, where an unnatural death occurred, police public relations officer, Inspector Roland Cobbler, confirmed that they have responded to an incident in the area.
