In January this year, residents at the Vauxhall Senior Citizens Village were thrown into a state of shock when one of their own was brutally killed.

Today a donation of a 40-inch flat screen smart television was made to the Village in an effort to bring cheer to the residents and increase recreational activities.

During her remarks, Minister of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs, Cynthia Forde, urged the younger generation to adopt the morals and values of the seniors.

Teresa Hamilton of the National Assistance Board (NAB) told members of the media, following the stabbing death of 69-year-old of Martha Agatha Doyle, counselling services were provided for those at the Village and residents and staff appear to be coping well.

The donation was coordinated by Lalu and Mavhuri Vaswani and Ansa Mcal Barbados.
