British visitor dies after snorkelling

Police are investigating the death of a 70 year old British visitor which occurred sometime around 1:50 pm on Thursday 5th April 2018, whilst at Carlisle Bay beach, Upper Bay Street, St. Michael.

The female visitor was a passenger onboard the cruise ship the Aurora. She went to do a snorkel dive when she got into difficulties. She was assisted by medical technicians who were present on the said dive boat. She was taken ashore where she was then transported via ambulance to the Accident and Emergency Department of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. She was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police are treating this death as unnatural. Investigations are continuing.
