BSA struggles continue in BFA Premier League
After an impressive start in their debut season of the Barbados Football Association (BFA) Premier League, RBC Capital Market Barbados Soccer Academy (BSA) has gone winless in their last three encounters.
Last Saturday evening at the BFA Wildey Turf, BSA fell to their second consecutive defeat as they went down 2-0 to Crane & Equipment Ellerton.
The victory was Ellerton’s second of the week after they defeated the University of the West Indies (UWI) 3-1 last Tuesday and they used this momentum to blank their junior opponents.
The BSA had influential midfielder Zari Prescod expelled in the 24th minute by referee Adrian Goddard after a reckless challenge on national U17 defender Triston Bancroft.
Six minutes later Ellerton captain Shakille Belle sent his team ahead from the penalty spot after goalkeeper Christopher Wilson brought him down inside the penalty area.
Ellerton found it difficult to break down the industrious and organized BSA defense, despite their numerical advantage.
However, for the second time of the match, another indecisive moment saw Ellerton earn another spot kick, which was converted by Shaquan Clarke in the 71st minute.
