The vehicular accident and the supposed cause were carried in another section of the press over the weekend.

Today in an urgent press release, the Ministry of Transport, Works and Maintenance asserted that it has "conducted an investigation into the claim made by a driver, which was published in a Nation newspaper story on July 31, and found it to be false."

The press release further stated:

"The driver, who ran in to a Tichbourne, St. Michael house and overturned, is reported as having said that he was attempting to avoid a pothole, however, when an MTWM investigating officer visited the site, to investigate the assertion that a pothole existed, there was no pothole found in the vicinity."

The MTWM stands by its officer's report.
