BWA investigating blockage on South Coast sewage Line
Created : 12 November 2017
The Wastewater Division (WWD) of the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) in recent weeks has been conducting a cleaning programme from Hastings Main Road, Christ Church and beyond to alleviate manhole overflows along the Southern corridor.
During this cleaning programme a blockage in the sewage line was discovered and starting tonight, Saturday, November 11 the WWD will be carrying out further investigations to determine the extent of the obstruction and an approach towards clearing it.
In Phase One of this investigative process work crews will be operating in the Worthing, Christ Church area between Republic Bank (Barbados) Ltd. and the Graeme Hall Nature Sanctuary; no disruption of service is expected during this initial stage of the work.
Through the media the BWA will be keeping the public updated on the progression of its investigations.
