BWA sorry; Power outages create more water woes

The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) suffered power outages at its Ashton Hall, Golden Ridge and Lodge Hill Stations and is apologizing to all affected customers.

In a press release issued today, Tuesday, June 11, 2019, The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) was affected by power outages at several of its facilities early today, Tuesday, June 11. This morning's power outages resulted in the stations at Ashton Hall, Golden Ridge and Lodge Hill going offline.

While the stations were put back online and pumping resumed, the stoppages may by extension, have affected a number of customers in sections of the BWA’s distribution network.

Customers in some St. Peter, St. George, St. John, St. Michael and St. James districts may be impacted by low pressure or outages as a result.

The normal supply is expected to return to the affected areas as water levels build in the mains. BWA's tanker crews will assist customers in the affected areas in the interim.
