CAL to resume flights from Jamaica

Caribbean Airlines will resume service from its Jamaica hub starting July 6.

In a letter to customers, Chief Executive Officer Garvin Medera said Caribbean Airlines will be resuming international and regional scheduled flights, on a phased basis, out of their Jamaica hub.

Initially, CAl will be providing the following services:

  • Daily flights between Kingston, Jamaica and New York, NY
  • Weekly flights between Kingston, Jamaica and Toronto, Canada on Wednesday starting July 8. This to be increased to twice weekly with an additional service on a Sunday from July 19.
  • Twice weekly flights between Kingston, Jamaica and Bridgetown, Barbados, on Monday and Friday

Flights went on sale from today, Monday June 29.

Medera said pending approvals, they plan to reintroduce daily Kingston to Miami, FL. route shortly after these initial services.

Later in July, they plan to reopen their network from Antigua and Barbados to regional destinations; as well an additional service to New York out of Montego Bay.

"As countries within our region slowly begin to open their borders, we look forward to expanding our schedule further. At present, Trinidad and Tobago is still closed to routine international travel, but we hope to resume normal services soon," Medera said.

He said there are a number of changes to the way we travel by air in order to keep our employees and passengers safe and all the information is available on CAL's website.
