Cayman: 8 negative results; total positives stand at 66

There are eight negative COVID-19 results that have been returned today. There are 150 that are being tested and should be returned later today. There are some 750 tests outstanding. Eighty have been prioritized; 50 of them were on the British Airways flight and 30 were for clinical reasons.

The status of positive cases is as follows:

29 have some symptoms.

19 are asymptomatic.

5 individuals are in the hospital.

5 are clinically recovered, including one on Cayman Brac.

7 have recovered fully.

Dr Lee is expecting a jump in improvements tomorrow, given the return of exit tests. Everyone appears to be improving.

The format of tomorrow’s press briefing will differ from other press briefings. The following specialists will be in attendance.

  • Dr Delroy Jefferson, Medical Director of the Cayman Islands Health Services
  • Dr Archita Joshi-Batt Microbiologist at Health City
  • Dr Stephen Gaye, Anesthetist at Doctors Hospital

They will be conducting a clinical presentation at this meeting.
