Organizing the T-shirts was supervisor Andrea Small.

She told Loop News, “We are from Heroes Square, Marhill Street, Broad Street and Fontabelle. I did 53 shirts, maybe 45 will be out on the Walk plus others who did get shirts but without her name.”

Small said that Roach “was a manager who we loved so much, who touched each and every one of us when she took ill and then was taken from us.”

Describing her former work colleague, she said:

“Cheryl was a very kindhearted lady, so loving; you can talk to her about anything. Me and Cheryl had a very good relationship. She was so nice to all of us. She died young. She was not much older than I am and we were they from the beginning when she first told us she has cancer. We all who were at Marhill Street working with her at the time, we all broke down in tears.”

She was 43 years old at the time of her passing.

So with the annual Walk for the Cure scheduled for today, October 7, 2018, in Barbados, Small said, “I decided to ask my coworkers who going on the walk to purchase one these shirts.”

She said that they all responded positively because they all agreed “giving the money directly to Barbados Cancer Society would be giving to a good cause.”
