Chelsea Tuach continues to impress on the World stage

Chelsea Tuach has carried her momentum across the vast ocean to the island of Sumatra, Indonesia where she dominated her Round 1 heat at the WSL Krui Pro.

Chelsea is the highest rated surfer of the Women’s event and has been a stand out in the practice sessions. Competing against local favorite, Puanani Johnson, and Marie Troja from French Polynesia, Tuach used her experience to find herself on the best waves of the dreamy left-hand point break of Krui to start with an excellent 7.75 score, which she backed up with another excellent score of 7.25 for the highest heat total of the ladies and second highest of the event at that point.

“We have a few months before the next QS 6,000 so I decided to come to Indonesia to train," Tuach said. "I am using this event to get some practice in heats. It is so beautiful here and I am loving the conditions." Tuach was looking forward to her Round of 16 heat.

"I am grateful for this blessing and for the support of my sponsors and from home,” Tuach said in her post heat interview.

Chelsea faced another standout from Round 1, Julie Nishimoto from Japan, along with Australian surfer, Lauren Poor and Tiana De Mooij from New Zealand in her next round.
