Christ Church East hears: 'I will keep the promises that I make'
The People of Christ Church East are well "backed" by Barbados Labour Party (BLP) candidate Wilfred Abrahams.
On Friday during a spot meeting at the Parish Land Pavillion, Parish Land, Christ Church Senator Abrahams said that he understood the people of Parish Land needed someone who was out there fighting for them and listening to their concerns rather than evading them.
"When I tell you that I got your back, it means that I will be with you in the good times and the bad times. It means that when your house roof blows off in a storm I will come to you with meaningful help. I will turn up with lumber, not six tins of sardines and drinks for somebody. When I say that I got your back it means that I will visit you in the hospital and I will keep the promises that I make," he said.
Abrahams said that he was willing to spend his last dollar on families, churches and positive organizations and was even willing to open his home for counselling for the children of his constituents. "My mission is to help deliver opportunities for the people of Christ Church East. Opportunities that I could have only dreamed of as a child because you matter!" he added.
The candidate said his aim was really to transform Parish Land into a sought after neighbourhood. He said he envisioned having a farmers market at the Parish Land Pavillion at least once a month, the fishermen he added would be encouraged into development to become small artisans.
"This is about you. Give me the chance with Mia Mottley and the rest of the Barbados Labour Party and I promise you, you will see representation that you have never seen before," he promised.
