Christ Church man admits to stealing $4,000 in drinks

A magistrate found a man guilty of stealing almost $4000 in alcoholic beverages and energy drinks from a local establishment.

Oluremi Damien Ayodelle Young, 33, of Pegwell Boggs, Christ Church heard the verdict when he appeared in the District "A" Magistrates' Court.

A pre-sentencing report was ordered by Magistrate Douglas Frederick and he was asked to return to court on June 11 for sentencing.

Young was found guilty of stealing 77 bottles of liquor, 26 bottles of wine, 12 energy drinks and 20 bottles of beers and breaking into Eagle's Nest Bar and Grill on June 2, 2014.

In an unrelated theft case, a man scaled the fence of another man's home and stole 5 plants in February. A month later he did the same thing.

The 10 plants were in the possession of Clarkson Byron Coombs - confirmed by CCTV from the home of Peter Daniel.

Coombs, 53, of Eversley Road, Brittons Hill, St Michael admitted stealing the plants between February 1 and March 31.

Magistrate Douglas Frederick imposed a six month bond with an alternative $750 fine or three month sentence.

He also had to pay $100 forthwith compensation to Daniel.

The matter was heard in the District "A" Magistrate Court and Sergeant ST Clair Phillips prosecuted.
