Haynesville cock fight turns bloody for two men

A police operation in Haynesville, St. James resulted in a gun fight between law enforcement and a group of unknown men. 

Police went to the community on Sunday 19, August 2018 about 5:30 pm in an area where persons had assembled and were involved in cock fighting.

On arrival police officers were met by men with weapons and there was an exchange of gunfire.

As a result two males, a 33-year-old resident of Clifton Hill, St. John and a 40-year-old resident of Retreat Terrace, Black Rock, St. Michael, received gunshot injuries. They were transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for medical attention.

A firearm and a number of live rounds were recovered. Investigations are continuing.
