Coffee and chocolate, a match made in heaven

One bite of her Blue Mountain Coffee-infused chocolate and you’re hooked!

Recently, when Loop Lifestyle checked in at Café Blue's newest location in Jamaica, we were pleased to see a spread of decadent chocolate-, and coffee-infused treats at the ready.

Award-winning fine pastry chef and artisan chocolatier Nadine Burie is at the helm and partly responsible for doling out fresh Café Blue pastry every day.

Her favourite part of it all is ‘the artistic things…developing flavours…’ since each bite-sized bit of chocolate has to be ‘as attractive as it is delicious’.

‘It’s classic French pastry’ Burie told Loop Lifestyle; chosen for their ‘summery, fresh’ appeal.

The pastry offerings include the tangy passion fruit and basil-infused meringue tart, and the crumby strawberry-lychee Charlotte cake, and so much more.

In addition to Café Blue pastry, Burie also provides pebble-sized drops of her own chocolate treats from a soon-to-be-released Likkle More Chocolate line.

Jamaica coffee, when paired with Jamaican bean-to-bar chocolate, is, as Café Blue Managing Director Jason Sharp puts it, ‘an amazing combination…the best of both worlds’.

They are all made with local produce including Jamaican coffee and cacao, are hand painted with expert care, and are ‘just as good as chocolates from any shop in Europe’.

White chocolate cornflakes, passion fruit, salted caramel, and the zesty Raspberry Gianduja are some of the new additions currently available at Café Blue.

 And there’s more to come. ‘We want to give our customers a world-class product,’ Burie mentioned.
