The Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training has advised that the Coleridge and Parry School, at Ashton Hall, St. Peter, will be closed from today, Tuesday, January 29.
It will remain closed for the rest of the week to allow authorities to address an environmental problem there. The Ministry regrets any inconvenience this closure may cause.
During the last school term, the Ministry was forced to close a number of secondary schools due to environmental issues including the St. Leonard's School and the Frederick Smith Secondary School in St. James.
Government buildings have also been experiencing environmental issues, namely the Supreme Court which had to be closed for an extended time last year. In addition, staff at the Barbados Statistical Service, located in Warrens, complained of health complications, resulting in the office being closed and undergoing extensive industrial cleaning.
