Crop Over Stalwart Herring passes

Days after the curtain came down on the Crop Over festival 2019, so too has the curtain on the life of one of the stalwarts of the festival.

Police say the body of Edward Rowe was discovered sometime after 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning at his residence at Phillips Lightfoot Lane, St. Michael.

This follows a report by a neighbour of the 68-year-old who went by the sobriquet the Herring, that she has last seen him alive by her on Sunday, August 4.

Lawmen suspect no foul play.

The songwriter honoured by the National Cultural Foundation back in 2011 for more than 30 years’ contribution to the development of the art form.
