Cruise visitor dies after St James beach trip

Police are investigating the death of a 79-year-old British visitor, which occurred sometime around 2:45 p.m. today at the beach at Mount Standfast, St. James.

The deceased, a cruise ship passenger, was snorkelling with a friend and was at some point observed floating face down in the water. He was subsequently pulled from the water in a semi-conscious state, CRP was performed, and an ambulance summoned.

He was rushed to the QEH by ambulance but was pronounced dead on arrival.
