UPDATE: Despite COVID curfew, man shot walking through track, dies

[Update: 4.00 pm, Sunday, May 17]

Shooting victim Jamar R Crichlow has succumbed to his injuries. He was 30 years old.

Police say that he passed away about 8.30 am this morning, whilst at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

He is late of The Ivy, St Michael. The shooting incident occurred in the neighbouring community of My Lord's Hill, near Odessa McClean Road.


Despite COVID curfew, man shot twice walking through track last night

A 30-year-old man is fighting for his life in hospital after a St Michael shooting last night.

Four hours ago a shooting incident in the My Lord's Hill area was reported.

A mobile patrol from District 'A' Police Station responded to the report.

According to police, the shooting incident occurred at about 9.30 pm on Saturday, May 16, 2020. The man received two gunshot wounds to his back and chest whilst walking through a track towards Odessa McClean Road on My Lords Hill in St Michael. 

Public Relations Officer for the Royal Barbados Police Force, Acting Inspector Rodney Inniss told media: "Police on arrival found the injured man at the scene. He was transported to the QEH [Queen Elizabeth Hospital] for medical attention.

"He was immediately dispatched to surgery. His injuries were classified by medical personnel as life-threatening."
