Before the novel coronavirus became the global pandemic COVID-19, British sprinter Dina Asher-Smith, who’s of Jamaican descent, was busy sitting pretty in designer duds for a British GQ editorial, filed among the multi-cover June 2020 issue.

Asher-Smith, who is the daughter of Jamaican parents Julie and Winston Asher-Smith, is a South London native, known to many as the fastest British woman in recorded history, traded her cleats for Off White kicks on the glossies’ cover.

In a set of images that the track star posted on her Instagram page, viewers gleaned the track to trendy transformation sprinkled with a bit of glam courtesy of her stylist Calvin Opaleye.

The caption from Asher-Smith's Instagram reads:

Me for @britishgq! ⠀
Last bit of ‘work’ I did before the lockdown, before the Olympic postponement and well... before all of this really! 😢⠀
Thank you so much #BritishGQ 🤩 thank you to my loves @calvinopaleye@vpintomoreira + @hilakarmand for making me feel so glam!

Asher-Smith is in a league of extraordinary cover stars including model/actress Emily Ratajkowski; pop tour de force Dua Lipa; English football manager Gareth Southgate; rapper/mogul/producer Dr Dre, who shared his cover with record executive Jimmy Iovine.
