Director of Washington University of Barbados helping police
The Director of Washington University of Barbados located at Casa Grande, Oldbury, St. Philip is currently assisting police with investigations.
Acting Police Public Relations Officer, Sargeant Michael Blackman disclosed this information to the media. He is 33-year-old Deoraj Jaimangal Dalchand of Jacaranda Circle, Apple Drive, Union, St. Philip
This development comes days after the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Washington University of Barbados, Rao Venkata Gopi was taken into custody by police. Handcuffed and escorted from the school compound by members of the Royal Barbados Police Force, the CEO was subsequently remanded to Her Majesty's Dodds Prison.
The CEO's charges are as follows:
In the District ‘C’ Jurisdiction:
1. Three counts of Evading Liability at Casa Grande Inc. for three dishonoured cheques totalling $210,000.00 Barbados Currency.
In the District ‘A’ jurisdiction
1. One count of Evading Liability at Furniture Ltd. T/S Builders Value Mart for one dishonoured cheque totalling $30,000.00 Barbados Currency.
He appeared before Christopher Birch at the District ‘C’ Magistrate’s Court on Monday, October 8, 2018 where he was not required to enter a plea to any of the charges as they are all indictable. He is scheduled to reappear at the District C Court on October 15, 2018.
The 42-year-old CEO is of Falcon Crest, Tuscany, Oldbury, St. Philip.
