DJ Puffy scratches off in Chile tomorrow
Andre ‘DJ Puffy’ Parris is super ready to shell the Red Bull World DJ Championships and rep the Bajan flag in South America.
After drawing his slot yesterday, he spoke with Loop today.
“I feel good about the slot. I had strategies laid out from before, so I’m confident but really and truly I just want to go do the set and worry about the results after.”
Tomorrow, December 14, Puffy is set to compete against disc jocks from Brazil, France, Italy, Spain and Belgium. He pulled position number three.
And funny enough, the competition is broken down into three styles, where each dj has to play at least three styles of music.
Laughing when asked if he is up to the challenge, he said, “My set contains way more than 3 styles.”
Puffy said that beyond the competition the opportunity is opening more doors for him and Barbados by extension.
He said, “The best djs from around the world are here. It's crazy. Not only that but we are also joined by representatives of DJ City, Pioneer, Go Pro, Red Bull of course and Serato. It's amazing. We're able to get scoops on all the latest technology and equipment coming out plus more.”
He doesn’t have any bucket list things to do Chile besides to “just have fun really,” but he is making friends and networking like crazy.
“I've already made friends with most of the guys. It's like one big dj family. They're all friendly and unique, and they're excited about visiting Barbados as well. You know I had to extend the invitation. So we can look forward to seeing and hearing them soon!”
The final is slated for Saturday, December 17, 2016.
