Elderly man injured in accident

Police are investigating a road traffic accident which resulted in serious injuries to an elderly pedestrian. 

Around 9:30 pm on Tuesday February 19, a pedestrian was struck by a route taxi along Oistins main road, opposite The Silver Fox Arcade.  

Involved were Route Taxi Registration # ZR 191 owned by Fullworth Transport Brighton, St. Michael.  

The injured party has been identified as 62-year-old, Andy Parris of Silver Hill, Christ Church. 

The route taxi was travelling along the mentioned road towards Bridgetown. Parris was crossing the road when the collision occurred, resulting in him sustaining injuries to his head, left foot, hip and abdomen. He was transported by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for medical attention. 

The route taxi sustained extensive damaged to its windscreen, bonnet and frontal area. 

Investigations are continuing.
