The government has been given a round of applause for the hand up they are giving business owners.

Recently Loop News took a trip to the Barbados Investment Development Corporation (BIDC), to get a sense of just how business persons felt about initiatives outlined by the government designed to help fuel entrepreneurship.

The Trust Loan Programme was introduced to offer up to $5 000 loans to entrepreneurs without collateral on presentation of a viable, basic expenditure plan.

And many entrepreneurs said that they were eternally grateful for all that government was doing to secure their hustles.

She added that it would especially be advantageous to those who did not qualify for a loan otherwise or did not like the loan terms offered by financial establishments:

“I personally would not want to take out a loan from the bank. I like the idea of a small interest repayment fee."
