Explosion at St James resort leaves three injured

An explosion at a resort in St James left persons nursing injuries today. 

This as the Royal Barbados Police Force has yet another incident to investigate with Christmas just a week away.

Acting Public Relations Officer with the Force, Sergeant Michael Blackman, told the media about the explosion: 

"About 7:15 pm on Monday, December 17th, police responded to a report of an explosion which occurred at the Royal Westmoreland Hotel, Saint James in the kitchen of the 'Tennis Gardens Rum Shak'."

He added that three persons were injured as a result, with one of them seeking medical attention at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH):

"Investigations revealed that three persons were injured as a result of the explosion. Two of the injured sought private medical attention, whilst one person was transported to the QEH by ambulance.

"Investigations are continuing"
