Fire officials rushed to the scene of an afternoon house fire but they were too late to save one structure.
A family was left without a home today after their house was destroyed by a blaze which also threatened to destroy other houses nearby.
At 2:03 pm, yesterday, Monday, May 28, the Barbados Fire Service received the call about the fire at Greenidge Gsp, in Hindsbury, St. Michael. The response comprising the multimedia and a water tanker was dispatched from Bridgetown Fire Station in Probyn Street. The fire officials were under the command of Sub-Officer Brathwaite.
According to the report, one house was completely destroyed and another neighbouring home was damaged extensively. The house that burnt flat was a wooden structure.
No one was reported injured during the blaze.
