A boy had to be rescued by firefighters in Florida after he climbed inside an amusement arcade game to get a stuffed toy.

The boy, named Mason, crawled into a crane claw machine – a game where players try to control a mechanized claw to grab a prize – via a small hatch where the prize would fall out.

Fortunately a local off-duty firefighter was on hand and the boy was soon extracted.

“Oftentimes we say to ourselves that you never know what the next shift will bring,” Titusville Fire and Emergency Services wrote in a Facebook post.

“This evening little Mason was enjoying some food and decided he wanted a stuffed animal. He wanted it so bad, he climbed into the game to get that toy!!”

“Thankfully he was never in any distress as one of our own Lt.’s happen to be there off duty and assessed the situation. Engine 10, led by Lt. Abernathy, made short work of the situation.”

The firefighters got Mason out with “minimal damage to the game” and he and his mother went back to eating dinner.

“We love a happy ending and are glad everything worked out,” the Facebook post said.
