Witness appeal issued

The Royal Barbados Police Force is launching a public appeal for anyone who has witnessed either of these two events to contact the District A police station at 430-7242/7246 or District C Police Station at 416-8201 / 8200, or any Police Station.

Communities in St. Lucy were beside themselves with worry over three loved ones and thrown into grief on learning of the passing of one of their neighbours. 

The owner and driver of the motor car Kevin Hinds, 37 years of Maycock Terrace, St. Lucy was driving along the Highway. The rear seat passenger is Nicole Jordan 40 years of Hope Road, St. Lucy. Both were rushed to the hospital after the accident.

Meanwhile, deceased is the front seat passenger Mark Griffith, 45 years of Broomesfield, St. Lucy. He died at the scene.

The vehicle was extensively damaged.

Front seat passenger loses life in fatal Highway crash

Three persons involved in a crash along the Barrow section of the ABC Highway; one died on the spot.

The accident occurred about 5:55 pm, Friday, May 25, 2018, along the Highway near the Norman Niles Roundabout involving a motorcar which was travelling in a southerly direction from Clyde Walcott roundabout towards said Norman Niles Roundabout. 

The car left the carriageway to its nearside and crashed through some shrubbery before colliding with a tree which brought it to a halt. The front-seat passenger died at the scene.

The driver and the rear-seat passenger were transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) for medical attention. 

Two fire tenders and eight personnel responded and used the "Jaws of Life" equipment to free the occupants.

Investigations are continuing into the fatal accident.
