Gine On?! Magazine hosted their first Mix n Mingle last Friday.
Small business owners and artistes got the opportunity to network and build relationships when the Gine On Magazine hosted their first Mix n Mingle last Friday at the Old Jamm Inn.
Magazine Publisher and NIFCA award winning spoken word artiste, Dempstu ‘DJ’ Simmons, spoke to Loop News on the sidelines of the event which attracted more than 50 persons from the business and arts community.
The digital publication comprises all local content including video interviews, artistes features and also features new music with a special focus on assisting entrepreneurs and small business owners get much needed exposure for business growth.
The event allowed those present network, build relationships and as DJ noted, “The whole idea is for everyone to be working together to help everybody grow together.”
The magazine has released 17 issues since its first release in April and DJ said from the start of the year, the magazine has been rebranded to focus more on connecting business with the arts.
“We saw the potential of the magazine to connect culture and community and business so from January this year is where we really up de thing.”
He added thus far many young and emerging artistes have benefited from having their content featured in one publication as opposed to using multiple social media platforms. He also said the Mix and Mingle event will be repeated in the future to give interested persons the opportunity to be part of the exchange of ideas.
