Grazettes industrial fire: Residents warned about smoke inhalation
Two businesses in the Grazettes Industrial Park went up in flames today.
Residents in the Grazettes community to the West of the blaze have been put on notice to evacuate, especially asthmatics, if necessary as the area was covered in smoke.
Police stated that the "residents in the area West of the Industrial Park are asked to take necessary precautions with regard to smoke inhalation as undisclosed chemicals may be spewing into the atmosphere."
Fire personnel under the command of Deputy Chief Fire Officer Henderson Patrick are on the scene along with police officers. In the initial stages of the fire only two commercial businesses were affected - Midwest 'Garment' and Glass Fibre Products.
The fire is said to have started about 6.08 am this morning, Sunday, February 16, 2020.
