UPDATE: Barbados records first murder for 2020

Barbados has recorded the first murder for 2020 following a shooting incident last night.
The adult male, who shot while in Eden Lodge St Michael, succumbed to his injuries. He has been identified as 44-year-old David Bedford of Mahaica Gap, Green Hill St Michael.
Preliminary investigations indicate that around 8.20 pm on Saturday January 4 2020, a group of persons, including Bedford, were liming in a poorly lit alley between Block #1 and #2 Nursery Close, Eden Lodge.
Two armed men came into the area and fired shots. Persons fled the area but upon return they noticed the victim was lying in a pool of blood. He was taken to the QEH by private motor vehicle where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Shots disturbed the Eden Lodge community a couple hours ago.
Police are still on the scene now at 10.17 pm, Saturday, January 4, 2020.
The shooting incident occurred about 8.20 pm today at an alley near Block #1 Nursery Close, Eden Lodge, St Michael.
According to Acting Police Public Relations Officer, Sargeant Michael Blackman, the gunshot victim is an adult male.
"Reports are that he has been transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) by private motor vehicle."
