Gunshot victim tried to get away but crashed

Shot multiple times about his body, a gunshot victim was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) by ambulance after he crashed his car near the shooting scene.

Police are carrying out investigations into the shooting incident which occurred at about 11:10 pm on Friday, July 3. In the release issued last night (July 4), it was stated that the shooting occurred in the area of Redmans Village in St Thomas.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer Acting Inspector Rodney Inniss, the victim was in the area of Redman Village, St Thomas when he was shot multiple times by an unknown person. In an attempt to escape, the victim fled the area in his car but he did not get too far. The car crashed in an area between Redmans Village and Welches, St Thomas.

He was later transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance.

Police are asking anyone who may have information that can assist with this investigation to contact Police Emergency at 211 Crime Stoppers at 1800(TIPS) District 'D' Police Station at 419-1726 or any Police Station.
