UPDATE: Collective total for trio's bail is over 1 Million

The prosecution objected to bail. However, bail has been granted in the sum of $400 000 for Charles Herbert, $400 000 for Christopher Rogers and $450 000 for Walter Prescod.

Attorney-at-law Andrew Pilgrim was representing Herbert and Rogers, while Shadia Simpson was holding papers for Attorney Arthur Holder.

There was a pause in the proceedings as they waited for Prescod's surety. Up to the time of this report his surety had not appeared

Two are out on bail to return to court on November 6, 2018.

UPDATE: Trio escorted to Court after days in police custody

First media personnel captured Walter Prescod climbing the stairs to District A Magistrate's Court alone around 12:20 pm. Only to see him quickly return down the steps and be taken away.

Moments later all three accused - Prescod, Rogers and Herbert were escorted to the Court around 12:30 pm, this afternoon.

Half a million in drugs lands trio in court after a week's detainment

Four days after the criminal offences were allegedly committed, today personnel of the Police Drug Squad arrested and formally charged three men in relation to a drug bust.

The three individuals are:

1. Arthur Charles Herbert 62 years, a Company Chairman, of Redland Plantation, St. George.

2. Christopher Glenn Rogers 56 years, a Company Director, of York Road, Navy Gardens, Christ Church

3. Walter Oneal Prescod 55 years, a sailor, of Emerald Park East, St. Philip

According to the press release from the Royal Barbados Police Force, the three persons were jointly charged with the following Offences which occurred on Monday, July 23, 2018, whilst at the Bridgetown Port, St. Michael.

The Offences are:

1. Possession of Cannabis

2. Possession with Intent to supply Cannabis

3. Trafficking of Cannabis

4. Importation of Cannabis

The weight of the Cannabis is 267 lbs / 121.4 kgs with an estimated street value of five hundred and thirty-four thousand, one hundred and sixty dollars (BBD$534,160.00) Barbados currency.

The trio is set to appear in the District ‘A’ Magistrate’s Court today, Friday, July 27, 2018.
