Heroic 7-year-old rescues toddler from burning house in Guyana Loop News Created : 9 February 2018 Caribbean News One courageous seven-year-old girl was praised after she acted quickly to rescue her four-year-old brother, helping him escape out of the window of a two-storey building. According to a report by Demerara Waves, the children had been left home alone on Monday evening when the blaze took hold around 9:30 pm. The quick-thinking Kisson Henry, 7, acted quickly to tie her baby brother Kyle with a sheet and let him down through the front window, before jumping out herself. Unfortunately, the child fractured one of her feet from the force of her landing as she and her brother fled the burning building, located at Glasgow New Housing Scheme, East Bank Berbice. The Guyana Fire Service quickly responded and was able to put out the blaze. Kisson and Kyle were taken for medical treatment where Kisson's foot was treated. Neighbours said this was not the first time the children had been left home alone. It is thought that the fire may have started from a lit candle. Guyanese authorities are searching for the children's mother to find out why they had been left unattended.
